YOU ALREADY KNOW.
You just need to trust yourself enough to listen.
WHEN DID YOU STOP TRUSTING YOURSELF?
You know when something doesn’t feel right.
You can feel it. You get that little nudge. Something inside you is telling you no — but you do it anyway.
Or you know exactly what you want, but instead of trusting yourself, you ask everybody else what they think.
And before you know it, you’re listening to everybody but yourself.
You put people first. You question your decisions. You worry about what people will think. You say yes when you really want to say no. You stay in relationships, friendships, jobs or situations longer than you should — even when deep down, you already know.
And when you keep doing that, you start losing trust in yourself.
You second-guess everything. You look to other people for reassurance. You need someone else to tell you that you're making the right decision. You ignore that feeling in your gut because you think maybe you're wrong.
And somewhere along the way, you start losing yourself too.
I really believe trusting yourself and loving yourself go together.
Because when you start loving yourself, you start treating yourself differently.
You stop putting everybody else first all the time. You stop saying yes just to keep people happy. You start having boundaries. You start knowing what you will and won't accept.
And you start choosing you.
Everything can look completely fine from the outside, but inside you know.
Something doesn't feel right.
And that little voice keeps coming back. That nudge keeps calling you and calling you — but somewhere along the way, you stopped listening to it.
We spend so much time wondering:
Can I trust them?
But maybe the bigger question is:
CAN I TRUST ME?
Can I trust what I feel?
Can I trust what I know?
Can I love myself enough to say no when something doesn't feel right?
Can I trust myself enough to make the decision that's right for me — even when everybody else thinks differently?
Because that inner voice hasn't gone anywhere.
It's been there the whole time.
And maybe it's time to start listening to it again.
You already know. 🖤
YOU DON'T LOSE YOURSELF ALL AT ONCE.
I think we can lose ourselves so easily in the world.
We get busy. We put everybody else first. We say yes when we really want to say no. We don't have boundaries, or we don't trust ourselves enough to hold them.
We feel something isn't right, but we question it.
We get that feeling in our body, that little nudge, and instead of listening to it we think:
Am I overthinking this?
Am I being too sensitive?
What if I'm wrong?
And the more we do that, the more we stop trusting what we feel.
We start looking outside ourselves for the answers. We ask everybody else what they think. We worry about disappointing people. We make decisions based on what everybody else needs or wants.
And somewhere in all of that, we can lose ourselves.
We don't know what we want anymore.
We don't know what feels right for us.
Sometimes we don't even know what we're feeling.
But your body is always communicating with you. There is actually a term for our ability to notice what's happening inside our body — interoception.
Our nervous system, emotions and past experiences can all affect how we understand those signals.
So coming back to yourself isn't about having all the answers.
It's about learning to listen again.
To your body.
To your feelings.
To your boundaries.
To that little nudge.
To you.
Because you already know.
YOUR BODY HAS BEEN COMMUNICATING WITH YOU THE WHOLE TIME.
